Client Challenge

• Automating Unit Area Averages for Multifamily Units: Client required unit-type-specific schedules in Revit that could dynamically compute and display average gross and net areas, minimizing manual work.
• Custom Imagery on Garage Screen Panels: Client needed precise overlay of custom imagery on garage screen panels to align with renderings and assist suppliers in fabrication planning.

Our Approach & Tools

• Created separate Revit schedules for each unit type with embedded formulas for automatic calculations.
• Developed a consolidated sheet (Z100 – Unit Gross and Net Areas) dynamically linked to unit changes.
• Applied Revit modeling and image editing techniques to accurately “paint” custom images on garage screen panels, aligning with dithering patterns for supplier use.

Results & Impact

• Efficiency Gains: Automated area schedules eliminated manual effort, improved reporting accuracy, and accelerated multifamily data analysis.
• Faster Permits: Deliverables were submitted ahead of schedule, supporting timely client milestones and permit approvals.
