CASE STUDY | BIM STAFF AUGMENTATION
Embedded Senior BIM Modeling Team for a Large-Scale Master-Planned Development in Dubai
BIM Staff Augmentation | Revit / BIM Modeling | United Arab Emirates
| Client | International design and engineering consultancy, Dubai |
| Project Type | Large-scale master-planned development, UAE |
| Engagement Model | Embedded Senior BIM Modeler team, 7-month deployment |
| Team Size | 4 Senior BIM Modelers (Architecture) |
| Standards | Client's own BEP, LOD, and BIM Compliance Protocol |
Project Background:
A Dubai-based international design and engineering consultancy needed to scale up its architectural BIM production capacity for a large master-planned development, without permanently expanding headcount for a project with a defined delivery window. eLogicTech supplied a team of four Senior BIM Modelers, embedded directly into the consultancy's own project workflow and held to the client's own BIM Execution Plan rather than a generic outsourced standard.
This wasn't a fixed-scope deliverable handed off at the end of a project. It was ongoing production capacity, operating inside someone else's BIM protocol, on someone else's schedule, for the length of the engagement.
The Challenge
Staffing a project like this isn't just a headcount problem. The consultancy needed modelers who could work inside its existing Building Execution Plan and LOD standards from day one, produce models that were clash-free and fully coordinated at each stage, and integrate into a reporting structure that included weekly timesheets, a weekly internal BIM progress meeting, and a full set of compliance documentation - not just drawings.
On top of that, the engagement needed built-in flexibility: the consultancy's own client review periods meant occasional scaled-down staffing windows, and any change to scope had to route through a formal written instruction before implementation - nothing informal, nothing assumed.
How the Engagement Was Structured
The deployment was built around three connected commitments, each tied directly to how the consultancy already ran its BIM program.
COMMITMENT 1 — Standards-Aligned Modeling
- All four modelers worked to the client's own BEP and LOD standards per project stage, rather than an eLogicTech-default process - models were required to be coordinated and clash-free at every stage, not just at final handover.
COMMITMENT 2 — Full Compliance Documentation
- Beyond the models themselves, the team maintained a Model Health Checker test, a Clash Matrix, a Model Responsibility Matrix, a BIM Compliance Checklist, and the architecture discipline's portion of the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) - the full documentation trail the client's own standards required.
COMMITMENT 3 — Embedded Reporting Rhythm
- Weekly timesheets for client review and approval, and a BIM Lead attending the client's internal weekly BIM progress meeting - keeping the embedded team inside the consultancy's own cadence rather than running a parallel one.
Deliverables
- Four embedded Senior BIM Modelers (Architecture), deployed for a 7- month engagement
- Coordinated, clash-free Revit models aligned to the client's own BEP and LOD standards at every stage
- A full compliance documentation set: Model Health Checker results, Clash Matrix, Model Responsibility Matrix, BIM Compliance Checklist, and MIDP input
- Weekly timesheet reporting and BIM Lead participation in the client's internal progress meetings

| What the Engagement Had to Match | What Stayed Consistent |
|---|---|
| The client's own BEP and LOD standards, not a generic outsourced process | Coordinated, clash-free models delivered at every project stage |
| A full compliance documentation set required by the client's BIM protocol | Weekly reporting rhythm and BIM Lead attendance at internal progress meetings |
| Variable staffing needs across the client's own review cycles | Continuity of the embedded team across the full 7-month engagement |
Why It Worked
The consultancy didn't need a vendor delivering finished drawings at the end of a phase - it needed production capacity that behaved like its own team, inside its own standards, reporting on its own cadence. Building the engagement around the client's existing BEP, documentation requirements, and meeting rhythm - rather than layering a separate outsourced process on top - is what let four embedded modelers function as an extension of the in-house team rather than an external one.
