As technology is evolving faster day by day,\u00a0Building Information Modeling<\/a>(BIM) is shaping itself to become the standard, in the building & construction practices, across nations. Presently the standards that are being used, help to achieve Level 2 BIM in which the team uses its own 3D CAD model so as to show how information is being exchanged between parties. Though, this model may not combine into a single-shared model.<\/p>

With the aim to achieve Level 3 of BIM Maturity, the British Standards Institution (BSI) is announcing its first two international standards for BIM, later this year. This development also comes with a responsibility to address a lot of industry needs with respect to BIM. Level 3 BIM is nothing but a full team collaborative approach between all involved parties and disciplines using a single-shared model. In this, each party can have access to the shared model and also they have the right to modify this model. In literal terms, it would act like an Open BIM, which will reduce the amount of risk relating series of standards. \u00a0to conflicting information between the groups.<\/p>

This announcement of international standards will mark a move for the PAS 1192. Let’s discuss more in detail about this expected transition of these standards.\u00a0<\/p>
